Rock For The Children Benefit Concert
The Rock For The Children Benefit Concert, Auction, and Carnival was the place to be on June 27th. This event, held in memory of fallen firefighter Victor Isler, raised over $6,000 to help grant the wish of one child! Thanks to Ten O'Clock Charlies for hosting the event, and to the bands Roxic and Steel Caravan for putting on a great show. A special thanks to Elaine Jackson for being the main event organizer!
Providence Country Club Tennis Tournament
The 4th Annual Providence Country Club Member/Guest Tennis Tournament was a huge success once again. The tournament held on May 21st raised over $30,000 to help us grant at least 5 wishes! Thanks to Providence Country Club for hosting this event. We want to especially thank Rani Shea and all of her committee members for the hard work they put into organizing this event.
Barry Williams' Saddlesore 1000 Fundraiser
Barry rode his motorcycle 1,000 miles in 24 hours on May 18th with intentions of benefiting our chapter. Barry's efforts helped to raise $1,145.23! Barry, being the father of a former wish child, called upon family, friends, colleagues, and the community of Charlotte to help raise money through his efforts in support of Make-A-Wish. We want to thank Barry for choosing our Foundation to support and we also want to thank everyone who made donations towards his ride.
Inaugural Flip For A Wish
Kids from the Cabarrus County area attended Flip For A Wish at Top Notch Gymnastics on Triple Crown Drive on May 2nd. The gym will also continue raising money by selling stars to their students and family members. Thanks to Millie and everyone else at Top Notch gym for helping raise money for our Foundation!
Ladies' Bunco Night
A group of ladies from Concord, NC hosted the Fourth Annual Ladies Bunco Night at Concord Firestation #9 Community Room. One hundred and two women attended the event this year, and it raised around $5,000 that night! Thanks to everyone who donated to this event as well as everyone who volunteered that night.
The Enchanted Evening
The Green Feat LLC organized a spectacular New Year's Eve party at the Charlotte City Club that benefited the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central and Western North Carolina. The night of the event $935.00 was raised to help grant wishes. Thank you to Chanra So at The Green Feat LLC for organizing this event as well as to the volunteers who helped that night.
Second Annual Wishing Well Bass Tournament

 Sam Hurley, a student at Gray Stone School, once again organized the bass tournament to benefit our Foundation. The event had a great turn out and raised around $3700.00! Thank you to our volunteers and wish family who helped with the event. We especially want to thank Sam and his volunteers for organizing such a wonderful event each year!
Donato's Make-A-Wish Day
Donato's in Huntersville hosted Make-A-Wish Day on Saturday, December 20, 2008.Twenty percent of the restaurant's sales that day benefited the Foundation as well as the raffle and "Change for a Change." The event raised almost $900.00 to help make wishes come true! Thank you to Angie Bytnar, one of our fabulous volunteers, for organizing the entire event.
Uptown Magazine "Sexies" Auction
Uptown Magazine hosted the 3rd Annual "Sexies' Auction at HOM on October 24, 2008. At the event seven of Charlotte's "Sexiest" offered packages that were acutioned off. The auction raised $8900! We want to thank Todd Trimakas and Zoe Balsamo at Uptown Magazine for organizing this event. We also want to thank Larry Sprinkle for being the best emcee and the "sexies" for participating.
10th Annual Portrait Homes Golf Tournament
On September 23, 2008, Portrait Homes hosted the 10th Annual Golf Tournament at Rain Tree Gold Club. This year there were around 80 attendees and they raised $13,000 which is enough to grant two wishes. We want to thank Michelle Childers and other Portrait Homes staff members for organizing this event!
Puttin' on a Wish


"Puttin' on a Wish" was an amazing day on Lake Norman for wish families to enjoy food, fun and fast boats.The night of the event over $13,000 was raised for the Make-A-Wish Foundation from the live auction at Midtown Sundries. A special thanks to Joy Schou and Kenny Dean for organizing such a great event!
