Our donors ensure that no qualified child will ever be turned down because of a lack of funds or services. On Line Donations
There is only one way to make an online donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Central and Western North Carolina:
The Make-A-Wish Foundation® national Online Donation Form. (Please be sure to designate that your donation be sent to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central & Western North Carolina Chapter. All donations originating from this link will result in 100% of the donation returning to our chapter. If the donation is made from typing in www.wish.org, 80% will return to the chapter and 20% will remain with the National office.)
Frequent Flyer Miles
Many national airlines now allow you to donation your frequent flier miles to the Make-A-Wish Foundation® . Your donation of miles for wish child travel will help extend the resources of the Chapter to other areas of wish granting and the mission. For more information on this program, please look for the Frequent Flyer section of our national web page at www.wish.org.
United Way
You may designate Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Central & Western North Carolina to receive contributions through your payroll deduction under the donor choice option. Ask your company's United Way Coordinator for details of writing in a charity.
In Kind Donations
Cash contributions are not the only way that you can help. Donated goods and services are important resources needed in all areas of our Chapter. Examples of items needed for our offices are scanners, used vans, office chairs, fireproof filing cabinets, paper supplies, pens, markers, etc. Examples of resources needed for fundraising are auction items for signature events, such as trips, airline tickets, autographed items, dinners, tickets to shows, etc.... Examples of resources needed for public relations are printing services, graphic artists, photographers, etc.... Examples of resources needed for wishes are limousine service, technical expertise for computer wishes, dinners for families on shopping sprees, computers, printers, laptop computers, Disney gifts, disposable cameras, photo albums, etc.... All donations of goods for our wish children must be new. Please call 1-877-677-WISH to find out about our wish list.
Matching Gifts
Several companies offer a matching gift program throughout the year that could double your annual contribution to Make-A-Wish®. Check for details from your company's personnel or accounting office.
Special Events
Planning and coordinating a special event, such as auctions, book sales, carnivals, concerts, golf tournaments or raffles, can be an exciting and challenging experience. Because state law mandates that all charitable special events be registered with the charity, please call our office at 704-339-0334.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation® name and logo are registered trademarks. A licensing agreement is also required.
State Employees Combined Campaign
This campaign is open to all North Carolina State Employees. You can make a donation by specifying the Make-A-Wish® of Central and Western North Carolina #2528 on your designation card.
Tribute and Memorial Donations
A donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Central & Western North Carolina can be the perfect way to commemorate birthdays or anniversaries, celebrate births or remember a recently deceased friend or relative. Your special donation can be mailed to 212 S. Tryon Street, Suite 1080, Charlotte, N.C. 28281. Please be sure to include the address of the family or individual that needs to be acknowledged. You can also call 1-877-677-WISH to put your donation on American Express, Discover, MasterCard or VISA.
Workplace Giving Campaigns
Thousands of supporters nationwide have designated the Make-A-Wish ® to receive contributions through employee workplace giving programs. Make-A-Wish® would like to thank these special people because their gifts help make wishes come true for children battling life-threatening illnesses. Please remember these gifts are easy to make through payroll deductions and are vital to continuing our mission. If your company is interested in adding our Chapter as a donor option, call our main office for further information, at 1-877-677-9474.
Combined Federal Campaign
This campaign is open to all federal employees and military personnel. Please specify Make-A-Wish® #0426 on your designation card.
Your Legacy Lives On
Most of us want to leave a legacy but often postpone the planning, mandating the state's management of our estate. Through planned giving, you can actually increase benefits to your heirs and provide for the future of this Chapter. Your gift can take the form of cash, stocks, bonds, mutual funds, annuities, real estate and other similar assets. For information on planned giving, please contact your tax or legal advisor.
